The sport that meets sport: In Cortina, Di Francisca, Brignone, Di Costanzo and Goggia are key players of a new way of talking about and experiencing sport. The Cortina World Cup is the stage for an innovative sports message: on 28 and 29 January 2017, Italia Team Rio 2016 is on the slopes of Cortina d’Ampezzo to team up with the Italian athletes taking part in high-speed races on the Olympia delle Tofane piste. This is the new project of Italia Team, the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) and the Cortina 2021 Foundation.
Sport meets sport in the perfect relay (photo Mezzelani-GMT), made up of sharing and creation, passion and excitement, which will lead up to the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games and the Cortina 2021 Alpine World Ski Championships, organised by the Cortina 2021 Foundation. Elisa Di Francisca (silver medallist) leads the athletes from Italia Team Rio 2016: Marco Di Costanzo (bronze medallist), Marco del Lungo, Christian Presciutti, Nicholas Presciutti and Alessandro Nora (bronze medallist), Sofia Lodi (4th place) and Francesco Fossi (4th place) are all ready to support their skiing colleagues. The true spirit of Italy’s Olympic Team is growing greater and stronger every day. This does not only mean feeling a sense of belonging to individual sports, but also experiencing a single identity: I AM ITALIA TEAM.

Advanced technology provides even more excitement: helmets that capture 360° shots, provided to Ski and Snowboard Schools, enable you to experience your descent in “augmented reality” on its special 360° viewer, installed in the Italia Team Area at the “Regina delle Dolomiti” centre. Totem Selfie enables fans to capture encounters with their beloved champions with one click. For the Alpine World Ski Championships 2021, the Foundation wants to work on creating synergy between sport and innovation. The project addresses sensitive topics such as care and respect for the environment, showing that big events can produce important legacies in terms of infrastructure, knowledge and experience. The athletes and young people are starting to make their voices heard and are working together to organise a great sports event. In Cortina, sport is a team game: I AM ITALIA TEAM!
