The first seasonal meeting has come to a close of the World Cup biathlon team, which has started training for the Olympic season and the PyeongChang 2018 Games in the French locality of Savoia di Correncon. After a month and a half of relative rest, the team manager, Fabrizio Curtaz convened Dominik Windisch, Giuseppe Montello, Thomas Bormolini, Dorothea Wierer, Federica Sanfilippo, Lisa Vittozzi and Alexia Runggaldier, together with coaches Patrick Oberegger, Andreas Zingerle and Patrick Favre for a first series of useful tests, above all in the shooting range. Absent with justification was Lukas Hofer, who has just been operated for nasal passage problems and who will be joining the group as and from the next meetings.
"It was an important meeting to find the right position for the rifle after not having used it for quite some time - explained Wierer, fifth in the final World Cup ratings last season -. It was important to reacquire a feeling with the rifle, create a new base, understand what can be improved on and maybe try out what might seem some insignificant details, but which could be of help".
