All the members of the Italian men’s ski team have been reconfirmed after what was a highly successful season for both the men’s and women’s squads and one even further enhanced by the record number of medals won in the World Cup. Reconfirmed as Team Manager was Massimo Rinaldi, with Massimo Carca as head coach for a season during which the spotlights will be on the Olympic Games of PyeongChang 2018.
Compared to last season, Andrea Ballerin will be leaving the World Cup Technical Disciplines team, split into two groups trained by Stefano Costazza: members of the first group will be Luca De Aliprandini, Florian Eisath (one seasonal medal), Stefano Gross (two seasonal medals) and Manfred Moelgg (three medals, with a seasonal victory in the slalom); in the second group instead will be Giovanni Borsotti, Simon Maurberger, Roberto Nani, Giuliano Razzoli, Tommaso Sala, Patrick Thaler and Riccardo Tonetti.
Two groups as well for the World Cup Fast Discipline Team trained by Alberto Ghidoni. Members of the first group include the holder of the downhill World Cup, Peter Fill, Christof Innerhofer (one seasonal medal) and Dominik Paris (two wins and two third places). In the second group will be Guglielmo Bosca, who comes from the youth team, Emanuele Buzzi, Mattia Casse, Werner Heel who comes up from the group of National Interest and Matteo Marsaglia.
