Road to PyeongChang 2018. About one hundred FISI coaches belonging to different sports convened recently at the Olympic Training Centre in Formia for an interdisciplinary meeting which marks the start of the new competitive season due to culminate in the Korean Games. A week of meetings with CONI Olympic Training, with the various physical training and training method experts, of team building with the FISI Medical Commission psychologist, Giuseppe Vercelli, and then interdisciplinary meetings, held by the team managers of the various sports, to take stock of the past season and plan the Olympic season about to start. The event was organized by the Federal Coach School in conjunction with the sports Managements.
The introductory greeting of the FISI President, Flavio Roda touched on one of the hottest topics: "We are heading towards an important year, the Olympic year. This is the time to take stock of the work done in the four-year period. The Olympics are an important moment for every federation, above all for the FISI, which includes 10 different disciplines. I know we all do our best to reach the most important goal. And with the Games fast approaching, it is essential that we are all aware of the importance of the appointment and that our ideas are very clear about it. Last season brought with it major achievements, but also the odd problem. Now we really must analyse what happened, for better or worse. We must take strong measures to remedy the things that did not go as planned".
