Biography
Pittin has written the history of Italian Nordic combined skiing, by winning – at a very young age – a bronze medal in Vancouver in 2010, the first Italian Olympic medal in the sport. Subsequently, he also achieved the first Italian victory in the World Cup (in 2012 in France, on 13 January with race number 13) and the first world podium (silver in Falun, 2015). He grew up as part of a family with a passion for winter sports, first putting on a pair of skis in 1993 and, thanks to the example set by his older brother, Riccardo, and father, Stelio, his passion was fuelled on the slopes of Zoncolan. At the age of 6, he started cross-country skiing – his speciality (at a young age he even beat world champion Pellegrino), at the age of 8 he was jumping: the rest came naturally. Purple is his favourite colour and he loves to eat pizza and Sachertorte. He loves music and the group AC/DC.
