Biography
He had just turned 18 when, for the first time, Stefan Thanei looked out over the starting gate of a downhill event at the Alpine Skiing Europa Cup. Four years later, he made his debut at the World Cup in Chamonix, finishing 59th. In 2011, he switched to ski cross, following his former teammate Kurt Sulzenbacher. In Lenk in 2016, he had the first victory of his career in the Europa Cup race, bringing prestige to this second career.
