This week sees the Italian Downhill Skiing athletes head to South America. The first to leave will be four Italian athletes from the Alpine Skiing World Cup team, who were invited by Massimo Rinaldi and Max Carca for the period 11 August to 5 September.


In view of the next sporting season’s commitments, the high point being the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics, Stefano Gross, Simon Maurberger, Manfred Moelgg and Tommaso Sala will be followed by technical staff headed by Stefano Costazza and comprising Giancarlo Bergamelli, Luca Caselli, Patrick Merlo, Daniele Simoncelli, Andrea Viano, Andrea Noris, Michael Wallner and the doctor Annalisa Bosio.Patrick Thaler will also be joining them, whose departure will be decided in the next few hours.


Destination: Ushuaia, in the Tierra del Fuego, where for years, the Italian Nationals have carried out much of their summer skiing training, thanks to the good snowfall and piste quality of the Argentine station.
