He received the first pair of skis at the age two and the following year he was already a young skier. He resides in Tuenno with parents Nadia and Livio and his brother Andrea. However, his Swiss colleague Michelle Gisin is the one that has won his heart. He took part in the Olympic Games in Sochi, then a left knee injury caused him to miss the next season. In 2017 a head injury left him unable to participate in the World Championships in St. Moritz, but the Italian, who spends his free time outdoors and enjoys riding his motocross bike, was able to find the "road to PyeongChang".
